    The synthesis of bis (oxazoline) dicarboxylate derivatives was investigated. Diethyl-aminosulfur trifluoride (DAST) was used as a convenient cyclization reagent in the synthesis of bis (oxazoline) dicarboxylate derivatives, which can not be obtained by the general method using MsCl and Et3N as dehydrating cyclization reagent.

    The Ru3(CO)12/PEDPA complex was firstly applied in the CO selective reduction of 4-propylthio-2-nitroaniline. The effects of reaction temperature, the pressure of CO and concentration of catalyst on the reduction were investigated.Under the optimum conditions of T=140℃, PCO=5.0MPa and substrate/catalyst=300(molar ratio), the conversion and selectivity were 70% and 98%, respectively.After simple phase separation, the catalyst could be recycled.

    Twenty-one 1-(1H-1, 2, 4-triazolyl)-2-(2, 4-diflurophenyl)-3-(4-substituted-1-piperazinyl)-2-propanol derivatives were designed and synthesized, on the basis of the active site of lanosterol 14α-demethylase.In vitro antifungal activities showed that some of the target compounds had higher antifungal activity and broader antifungal spectrum than fluconazole.

    The method of preparing D-phenylalanine by asymmetric transformation is reported.D-phenylalanine was prepared from DL-phenylalanine by two-step reaction.D-phenylalanine (2S, 3S)-tartrate was prepared by heating DL-phenylalanine, salicylaldehyde, and (2S, 3S)-tartaric acid in propionic acid;the obtained D-phenylalanine (2S, 3S)-tartrate was treated with triethylamine in ethanol giving D-phenylalanine with 98% optical purity in 69% yield.

    A new sterol, ergosta-8(9), 22-diene-3, 5, 6, 7-tetraol (3β, 5α, 6β, 7α, 22E) (A) together with three known sterols:3β, 5α, 6β-trihydroxyergosta-7,22-diene (B), 3β-hydroxy-5α,8α-epidioxyer-gosta-6, 22-diene (C) and ergosterol (D) were isolated from the mycelia of an unidentified endophytic fungus separated from Castaniopsis fissa (chestnut tree). Compound A exhibited potent selective cytotoxicity against Bel-7402, NCI4460 and L-02 cell lines with IC50 values 8.445, 5.03, 13.621 μg/mL, respectively.

    A sensitive analytical method to identify active metabolites of bitespiramycin in rat urine and bile was developed by liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC/ESI-MSn).Bitespiramycin and its major active metabolites in rat urine and bile were isolated and identified as M1 serial (spiramycin I, Ⅱ, Ⅲ), M2 serial (platenomycin A1, josamycin and leucomycin A1) and M3 serial (deisovalerylplatenomycin A1, deisovaleryl-josamycin, deisovalerylleucomycin A1).

    A novel monolithic stationary phase having long alkyl chain ligands was introduced and evaluated in pressurized-capillary electrochromatography of small neutral and charged compounds.The monolithic column was prepared by the in situ copolymerization of ethylene dimethacrylate, 1-hexadecene, allyl alcohol and 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid in a quaternary porogenic solvent mixture consisting of 1, 4-butanediol, cyclohexanol, dodecanol and water.

    A new type of dual-electrode and multi-channel electrochemical detection technology for capillary electrophoresis is described in this paper. Two detectors (the amperometric detector and the conductometric detector) or two conductometric detectors are connected to the same capillary electrophoresis system. The whole system possesses the advantages of the two electrochemical detectors including sparing time, improving the analytical speed and expanding the sample range.The working electrode and detector cell are handled easily.The system was applied to sample detection with satisfactory results.

    Ce (Ⅲ)-ALC-F-complex can react with hsDNA to form an electrochemically non-active supermolecular complex Ce (Ⅲ)-ALC-F--DNA in the buffer solution of (CH2)6N4 (pH=4.9), which results in the decrease of the peak current of Ce (Ⅲ)-ALC-F-.This method can be applied to determine DNA concentration. In addition, by using fluorimetric and UV-spectrophotometric methods with studies of denatured DNA and the effect of NaCl solution, it is also found that the binding mode is intercalation.

    Stable films made from chitosan (CS) on pyrolytic graphite electrode (PGE) gave direct electrochemistry for incorporated enzyme nitrate reductase (NR).Cyclic voltammetry of CS/NR films showed a pair of well-defined and nearly reversible redox peaks at about-0.430 V vs.SCE at pH 7.0 phosphate buffers.

    Crosslinked macroporous polyacrylamide (PAM) was prepared with inverse phase suspension polymerization technique.After treatment with hydrazine, the polymer was functionalized with chloroacetic acid, trifluoroacetic acid diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DEPAA), and maleic acid, respectively, and PAM based adsorbents bearing carboxyl functional groups for low density lipoprotein (LDL) apheresis use were obtained.The blood compatibility and the adsorption properties for plasma lipoproteins of PAM based adsorbents were investigated.

    Photoelectrocatalytic degradation performance of quinoline in saline water was investigated using a new-designed continuous flow three-dimensional electrode-packed bed photocatalytic reactor.It is interesting to find that chloride ion has an obvious enhancement effect rather than a scavenging effect on the photoelectrocatalytic degradation of quinoline, and create a kinetic synergetic effect in the photoelectrocatalytic reactor.

    The free radical polymerization of styrene in water in the presence of β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) is described.It is found that β-CD could greatly accelerate the polymerization, enhance the final conversion of monomer.The particle-size distribution of the final polymer is also improved than that without β-CD in the system.

    The interaction between CdS quantum dots and amino polysaccharide chitosan in aqueous solution was studied via photoluminescence (PL) spectra. The surface binding of chitosan with different molecular weight (MW) quenched the luminescence of QDs due to the elimination of radioactive anion vacancy centers.This process fits well with the Perrin model;lower MW chitosan exhibits higher quenching efficiency due to better availability to the surface.

    Using the molecular electronegativity distance vector descriptors derived directly from the molecular topological structures, the aqueous solubilities of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) were predicted. A three-variable regression equation with correlation coefficient of 0.9739 and the root mean square errors of 0.26 was developed. The descriptors included in the equation represent three interactions between three pairs of atomic types, i.e., atom -C=and>C=, -C=and-Cl, and-Cland-Cl.It has been proved that the aqueous solubilities of 137 PCB congeners can be accurately predicted as long as there are more than 65 calibration compounds.

    Thin PVA/manganese acetate composite fibres were prepared by using sol-gel processing and electrospinning technique.After calcinations of the above precursor fibres, Mn3O4 nanofibres with a diameter of 50-200 nm could be successfully obtained.The fibres were characterized by SEM, FT-IR, XRD.The results showed that the crystalline phase and morphology of nanofibres were largely influenced by the calcination temperature.

    A green heterogeneous catalyst for Heck reaction-chitosan-immobilized palladium complex was prepared.The catalyst exhibits high activity and stereoselectivity under the moderate reaction conditions.The catalyst can be separated easily from the reaction mixture and reused after washing. Under the suitable reaction conditions, the cross-coupling of iodobenzene (ArI) with acrylic acid (AA) or acrylate can be achieved 93.3% or 99% yield of trans-cinnamic acid or trans-cinnamic ester.

    Hollow polysiloxane particles with diameters between 1.40 and 1.60 micrometres were fabricated by consecutive cocondensation of methyltrimethoxysilane and diphenyldimethoxysilane monomers onto polydiphenylsiloxane, subsequently removing the templated polydiphenylsiloxane by exposure to solvents.TEM and AFM measurement reveal that there are obvious hollow sphere structures for the polysiloxane microsphere particles.The hollow spheres are envisioned to have applications in areas ranging from dye-industry, catalysis, pharmaceutics to materials science.

    A novel fluorene-based conjugated copolymer containing cyclobutenedione unit was synthesized by Suzuki reaction. Its structure and properties were characterized by FTIR, 1HNMR, elemental analysis, PL spectroscopy, DSC, TGA and cyclic voltammetry. The resulting polymer shows strong yellow PL emission (561 nm) and good solubility in polar aprotic solvents, i.e.THF, DMF, DMAC, DMSO, etc. DSC and TGA studies reveal that the novel polymer possesses excellent thermal stability with high glass transition temperature of 127℃ and onset decomposition temperature of 411℃.Cyclic voltammetry measurement demonstrated that the polymer has both hole and electron-transporting property.

    Polyaniline (PANI) film was electrosynthesized on 304 stainless steel by cyclic voltammetry using aqueous oxalic acid as supporting electrolyte. The potential sweep rates were changed to achieve the PANI film with different thickness and structures. Protective properties of the PANI film for corrosion of stainless steel in 3% NaCl aqueous solution were investigated by monitoring potentiodynamic polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).The results showed that the PANI film which was formed with lower sweep rate led to more positive shift of corrosion potential and greater charge transfer resistance, reflecting higher inhibition for corrosion of the stainless steel.

    A new planar isomer of HNC3 system, H-cCNC-C, is theoretically predicted by means of B3LYP and CCSD (T) methods. The suggested species can isomerize into other five kinetically more stable isomers, which have been experimentally identified, with relatively higher reaction barriers. In view of its higher kinetic stability, we can reasonably believe that the obtained species H-cCNC-C can be experimentally observed in future studies.

    In this paper we proposed a novel exact fixed-node quantum Monte Carlo (EFNQMC) algorithm, which is a self-optimizing and self-improving procedure. In contrast to the previous EFNQMC method, the trial function is optimized synchronistically in the diffusion procedure, but not before the beginning of EFNQMC computation. In order to optimize the trial function, the improved steepest descent technique is used, in which the step size is automatically adjustable. The procedure is quasi-Newton and converges super linearly. We also use a novel trial function, which has correct electron-electron and electron-nucleus cusp conditions. The novel EFNQMC algorithm and the novel trial function are employed to calculate the energies of 11A1 state of CH2, 1Ag state of C8 and the ground-states of H2, LiH, Li2, H2O, respectively. The test results show that both the novel algorithm and the trial function proposed in the present paper are very excellent.
