    In the presence of phosphoryl group,N-diisopropyloxy phosphoryl amino acids become more reactive and undergo self-catalysis to form the peptides by coupling with amino acids or their esters in aqueous solution at low temperature.The different side chain amino acid would appear with different reactivity.It might be important for the prebiotic synthesis of protein.

    The work herein reported is about a rapid and convenient synthetic method of a ketal formed from ethylene glycol and cyclohexanone by using H3PW12O40(HPA)as catalyst.It has been shown that the reaction,by using HPA as catalyst,can proceed at room temperature and have the high yield of 92% and the catalyst can be used again and again.

    Epoxy-terminated poly(arylene ether sulphone) and allyl-terminated poly(arylene ether sulphone) were prepared via hydroxy1-terminated oligomers under phase transfer catalyzed reaction conditions.The products were characterized by FT-IR,1H-NMR and elemental analysis.

    We have studied 9-anthroic acid sensitized photolysis of diphenyliodonium salts through fluorescence quenching,products analysis and photo-CIDNP.The photoinduced electron transfer rate constant was calculated to be 8.6×1010L/mol·s.From photo-CIDNP study,both diphenyliodo and phenyl radicals were confirmed as intermediates.Benzene is a cage escaped product from a singlet radical pair and diphenyliodonium salt is a recombination product from a triplet radical pair.

    Two new oleanane-type triterpenoid saponins,asterbatanoside B and C have been isolated from the roots of Aster batangensis and their structures elucidated as 2α,3β,23-trihydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid-28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)β-D-glucopyranoside and 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-2β,3β,23-trihydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid-28-O-β-D-glucopyranoside by means of spectral data and chemical evidence.

    A new echinocystic acid saponin,asteryunnanoside H (1),has been isolated from the roots of Aster yunnanensis (Compositae).The structure and the unambiguous assignments of the 1H- and 13C NMR data of 1 were obtained based on extensive use of 1D and 2D NMR techniques (COSY,TOCSY,ROESY,HMQC and HMBC), and chemical transformations.

    Two new oleanolic acid saponins named asteryunnanoside F and G were isolated from the roots of Aster yunnanensis.The chemical structures were determined as oleanolic acid-28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-D-glucopyranoside and 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-oleanolic acid-28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)[α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)]-β-D-glucopyranoside by spectral data,especially 2D NMR analysis (COSY,HETCOR,HOHAHA and ROESY), and chemical transformations.

    Two new flavonoids,5,7,3',6'-tetrahydroxy-6,8,2'-trimethoxyfiavone [1],(2R,3R)-3,5,7,2',5'-pentahydroxyflavanone [2] and a naturally occurring new flavone,7,2'-dihydroxy-5-methoxyflavone [3] were isolated,together with ten known flavonids and three glycosides of phenylethanoid for the first time from the roots of Scutellaria planipes.

    The alkaline hydrolysis of p-nitrophenyl propionate and acetate in the micellar solution of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide with buffer has been investigated.Different catalytic effects,even inhibition,upon the ester hydrolysis reaction have been observed.The accompanying ammonolysis,which was overlooked in the past,plays an inhibition role in the micelle-catalytic hydrolysis.

    A double layered catalyst bed with K+-ThO2-BaCO3 close to the reactor inlet and La2O3-BaCO3 downflow of the upper layer of the bed has been used to catalyze methane oxidative coupling reaction.The C2 yield and C2 selectivity obtained on the double layered catalyst bed were found to be higher than that obtained with either of the catalyst operating separately.

    The homology protein modeling method was used to construct the structure of phospholipase A2 from human rheumatoid arthritic synovial fluid.The sequence and structure compatibility was evaluated by STRCTR program.By comparison of the predicted and the X-ray crystal structure,we found that the active site was looser in the former.It has been proved in the inhibitor design process that the structure from homology prediction is also a good starting point for rational drug design.

    Cellulose membrane was used as stationary phase of affinity chromatography.A method for the preparation of micropore cellulose membrane from cellulose film is described.Triazine dyes,Cibacron Blue F3GA and Active Red K2BP were immobilized as affinity ligands.Up to 100 mg Cibacron Blue F3GA can be coupled onto 1 g membrane matrix.A membrane cartridge containing blue affinity membranes was also prepared.The flux of the cartridge was much superior to that of column packed with agarose as separation medium.On this cartridge,the chromatography of human serum albumin was performed.

    DNA adduction with nicotine-derived nitrosamine,4-(methylnitrosamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone(NNK) in mice at doses equivalent to human exposure has been studied using 14C-label by accelerator mass spectrometry(AMS).A detection limit of DNA adducts of 1 adduct per 1010 nucleotides has been achieved.This sensitivity of AMS measurement is 3 or more orders of magnitude improved than that of radioimmunoassay.Formation of DNA adducts is linearly dependent on dose down to an exposure of 100 ng per kg of body weight.The ultimate chemical form of carcinogen NNK binding to DNA is speculated.

    Two series of heterogeneous hydrogels composed of cross-linked poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) and polydimethyl silicone were prepared,and then levonorgestrel (LNG) was loaded into them.The results of in vitro release show that they can release LNG in a zero order rate with prolonged period.

    In this paper is reported a new method of determining serum albumin with potentiometry.The silver ion selective electrode was used as working electrode and S.C.E as reference electrode.By controlling the ionic strength,pH and temperature constant,a good linear relationship was obtained between the cell potential and albumin concentration.This method possessed characters of operating simplicity,rapidity and directness.The samples could be detected directly and the results were in accordance with the values detected by classic K method.

    The electrochemical behaviour of the indium complex with semixylenol orange at a hanging mercury electrode has been investigated in HAc-NaAc solution(pH=3.66).The mechanism of the electrode reaction was found to be reduction of (Ⅲ)L2 adsorbed on the electrode by irreversible charges transfer to metal amalgam,In(Ⅲ)Hg.The detection limit and the linear range are 6.5×10-11mol/L and 3.0×10-10)-1.5×10-9mol/L respectively.This method has been applied to determine indium in samples of nickel and nickel sulfate.

    A new empirical potential energy function for molecule-cluster interaction is presented.It is approximately separated into two contributions:VLEPS which is based upon a modified LEPS potential accounting for the interactions between gas atoms and the cluster and among the gas atoms,and VCL which comprises two-and three-body terms representing the atom-atom interactions within the cluster.This function is transferable from small cluster to bulk system such as solid surfaces.The preliminary dynamical calculations of dissociation of H2 and D2 on rigid and non-rigid Cu7 clusters are also given.

    Clusters(μ3-CPh)Co2M(CO)8(RCOCp)(M=Mo,W;R=H,CH3,C2H5O) were synthesized by refluxing a solution of(μ3-CPh)Co3(CO)9 and transition metal carbonyl anion M(CO)3(RCOCp) in THF.The clusters were characterized by C/H analysis,IR and 1H NMR.

    The title complex is a new trinuclecadmium(Ⅱ) chelate of Schiff base containing S and N atoms.The complex crystallizes in the monocline,space group C2/c,with cell dimensions:a=34.214(4),b=11.581(2),c=17.932(5)?,β=119.76(1)°,V=6168 ?3,Mr=1427.45,Z=4,Dc=1.54g/cm3,μ=12.48cm-1,F(000)=2860.The structure was solved by direct method and the final R=0.066.

    Hydrogen diffusion studies of microcrystalline LaNi3.94Si0.54 films were conducted using the electrochemical permeation technique.Hydrogen diffusion transient curves were found to be composed of two steps of transients,which might be ascribed to the transition from α phase to hydride phase and the following migration of the phase boundary.The hydrogen diffusion coefficients in the a phase of the alloy film were also calculated from the hydrogen diffusion transient curves.

    By using an electrolytic cell with a cation-exchange membrane,europium is recovered from nitrobenzene solution obtained from the solvent extraction with 4-tert-butylbenzo-15-crown-5 in the presence of picric acid.This method permits the separation of metal ions from crown ethers and counter anions.There is no loss of expensive extractant during the electrolysis.
