A cembrenene precursor,4,10-dimethyl-7-isopropenyl-14-oxo-3Z,5E,10E-pentadecatrienal,was prepared in a convergent and stereoselective manner starting from geranylacetone via six steps employing allylic chlorination,Wittig reaction(SCOOPY),alkylation of the allylic chloride 11,and the reductive elimination of the vicinal acetoxyl sulfone adduct to introduce stereoselectively the trans double bond of the target molecule as key steps.

Silica-supported poly(maleic acid-co-divinyl benzene)-triruthenium cluster displays high activity in the oxidation of styrene to benzaldehyde (mainly) and phenyl acetaldehyde.It can be recycled more than 8 times without noticeable decrease of activity.

The quantum yields of ¹O₂ generated by photosensitization of some substituted metal phthalocyanlnes(Φ_▲) were measured by using DPBF (diphenyllsobenzofuran) as chemical trap of ¹O₂ in oxygen saturated DMSO solution.Both strong electron-withdrawing(-NO₂) or strong electron-donating(-NH₂) group decrease the ability to produce ¹O₂,whereas halogenation(Cl,Br,I) changes this ability only slightly.

1,5-Diamino-4,8-dihydroxyanthraquinone (DADHA) is an important intermediate for blue disperse dyestuff. Its classical synthetical method is involved with four steps:benzoxylation (methoxylation), nitration, hydrolysis and reduction. More recently, morally discovered that 1,5-dinitro-4,8-dihydroxyanthraquinone can be reduced into DADHA by the catalytic hydrogenation reaction [1].However, these are still a considerable number of reaction stages.In this study, a new DAHDA synthetical method by the direct electroreduction of 1,5-dinitroanthraquinone (1,5-DNA) was reported.

Two new oleanane-type triterpenoid saponins,asteryunnanoside A and B,were isolated from the roots of Aster yunnanensis Franch,and their structures were elucidated based on spectral evidence and chemical hydrolysis.They have the same aglycone,which has been assigned as 2α,3β,23-trihydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid,and the difference consisted only in 28-O-linked sugar moieties.Asteryunnanoside A is a 28-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1-2)-β-D-glucopyranoside and B is 28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-2)-β-D-glucopyranoside of the corresponding aglycone.

Laser-induced fluorescence spectroelectrochemistry,a new spectroelectrochemical technique,was used in situ during electrochemical eduction of α,β,γ,δ-tetra(4-trimethyl ammonium phenyl) porphyrin (T(4-TAP)P) to examine chemical processes occurring at electrode surface.The spectral properties and the laser-induced fluorescence spectroelectrochemical properties of T(4-TAP)P were studied,The electroreduction mechanism of T(4-TAP)P has been discussed.

Condensation of equimolar quantities of salicylaldehyde and α-amino acid (glycine,alanine,valine,leucine,phenylalanine,serine,cysteine) in absolute Methanol-KOH gives the amino acid Schiff base^[1].Its germanium tetrachloride adducts of the type GeCL₁·(sal.=aa.k)₂ have been prepared in absolute methanol^[2] and characterized by elemental analyses,conductance measurements,IB and ¹H-NMR spectra,electronic spectra,cyclic voltammetry and thermal analyses,etc..

Ring opening polymerization of (chlcromethyl) thiirane (CMT) using rare earth coordination catalysts has been investigated for the first time,It has been found that binary rare earth coordination catalyst composed of rare ■ of phosphonate and trialkyl aluminum are effective catalysts for the polymerization of (chloromethyl) thiirane with high yield.Kinetic studies showed that the polymerization rate is of first order with respect to both monomer concentration and catalyst concentration.The activation energy of the polymerization reaction is 28.4kJ/mol.

Two new tailed porphyrin iron(Ⅲ) complexes,5-[o-(1-imidazolyl) butoxyl]phenyl-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrinatoiron(Ⅲ) chloride(o-ImBPTPPFe(Ⅲ)Cl) and 5-[p-[4-(m-pyridyloxy) butoxyl]phenyl]-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrinatoiron(Ⅲ) chloride(p-PyBPTPPFe(Ⅲ)Cl) were prepared.The equilibrium reaction of these complexes with some pyridine bases were studied,and the equilibrium constants were measured by spectral technique.From the results,a novel coordination mode that the terminal group coordinate with ferric ion was proposed in o-ImBPTPPFe(Ⅲ)Cl system.

Separation of dioxane-water mixture by the pervaporation processes through PVA-PAN composite membranes has been investigated.Results are presented for membranes which are preferentially permeable to water.Both the permeability and the selectivity for water increase with pervaporation temperature.The selectivity is determined by the diffusion selectivity at dioxane concentration below 90%,but at a concentration over 90% the absorption selectivity is predominant.

A stable and homogeneous PbS nanometer particle wrapped in the Polymaleic Acid-Octadecanol monoester is obtained based on the reaction Pb²⁺+H₂S,the H₂S is obtained from the hydrolysis of thioacetamide osmosing into the colloidal nucleus from the dispersing medium.The size of the PbS nanometer particle is between 4 and 6 nm determined by TEM.
